Subculture was founded by Tayla Burgess during her graduate year at the Cape Town College of Fashion Design. Having previously completed her degree in Media and Gender Studies at the University of Cape Town, she decided to pursue her passion full time by enrolling in fashion design. The brand reflects both her personal and design philosophy, as well as aesthetic.
